* 9월 17일부터 19일까지 레바논 베이루트에서 '반전 반세계화운동 국제회의'가 개최됩니다. 세계적으로 반전운동은 2003년에 자카르타에서 회합을 가지고 '자카르타 컨센서스'를 구성하였습니다. 특히 2003년에는 2월 15일 국제반전행동으로 수천만이 조직되었습니다. 이후 2004년 1월 뭄바이에서 열린 세계사회포럼에서 반전총회가 개최되었고 '반전 반세계화 운동'의 전략이 논의되었습니다. 2004년 3월 20일에는 미국의 이라크 침략 1년을 맞아 이에 항의하는 국제적인 공동행동이 조직되었습니다. 이 연장선상에서 이라크 민중과의 연대를 강화하고 반전 반세계화 운동의 전략과 행동을 논의하기 위한 국제대회가 이번에 9월 17일부터 베이루트에서 열리는 것입니다. * 참가 호소문 전쟁과 제국주의에 반대하는 민중운동, 향후 어디로 가야하는가? 2004년 9월 17일-19일, 레바논 베이루트 6월 30일의 ‘허구적인 주권이양‘ 이후 이라크에 대한 미국의 군사적, 경제적 그리고 정치적 점령과 더불어 지역에 대한 의도적 불안정화가 지속되고 있다. 동시에 부시 행정부는 팔레스타인 민중을 학살하고 그들을 배제하면서 통제하는 정책을 계속 강제하도록 샤론 정부에게 자유를 부여해주고 있다. 이것은 팔레스타인의 위기를 군사력과 복종으로 “해결”하려는 미국-이스라엘의 전략의 일부이다. 그럼에도 저항은 계속된다. 이라크인과 팔레스탄인들은 점령군에게 굴복하기를 거부하고 있으며, 전세계적으로 수백만명의 시민들이 이라크와 팔레스타인 점령 중단, 제국주의 전쟁 중단을 요구하며 거리로 나오고 있다. 우리는 함께 우리나라에서 자신들의 이익을 위해 종교적, 민족적, 종교적 그리고 종족 갈등을 증폭시키고, 그럼으로써 민중의 고통을 가중시키고 우리 사이 폭력과 증오를 증대시키는 세력을 규탄한다. 국제회의를 제안한다. 국제적 반전운동은 지난 수십년간 있어왔던 지구적 운동 중 가장 고무적인 운동이다. 전쟁광들을 뒤흔들고 있으며 세계 여론의 지지를 얻고 있다. 이제 이 운동은 새로운 상황과 새로운 도전을 직면하고 있다. 우리는 그래서 레바논 베이루트에서 반전 반세계화 운동들 간 국제회의를 개최하고자 한다. 이 회의는 두 가지의 목표를 가지고 있다. 첫째, 공동의 관점, 전략과 캠페인을 토론하고 발전시킴으로써 운동을 확대하고 강화하는 것이며, 둘째는 현존하는 연대를 강화하고 아울러 아랍세계 내 반전 반세계화 세력들과의 새로운 연대를 꾀하는 것이다. 우리는 그래서 회의를 레바논에서 개최하고자 하는 것이다. 참가단 파견을 호소한다. 우리는 평화, 정의와 자유를 위해 투쟁하는 모든 운동, 네트워크와 연대체가 베이루트 회의에 참가단을 보내 논의에 참여하고 전쟁과 자본주도의 세계화에 대항하는 국제적 운동을 강화하는 데 동참할 것을 호소한다. 지지연명 단체 (8월 6일 현재) Africa Alive African Muslim Youth Congress Agir Contre la Guerre, France AJURNICA, Ecuador AL-LEQAA group, Lebanon All Together, Korea Alternative Information Center, Israel Amerindia, Chile Anebre, Colombia ANEL, Mexico Anti War Coalition, South Africa Arab Group for the Protection of Nature Arab NGO Network for Development Argentinos Por La Paz Asamblea Popular, Chile Asia-Pacific Peace Research Association (APPRA) Asia Pacific Peace Forum Asian Women Human Rights Council Association of web against a wall, France Association Vigie-Media-Palestine, France ASPU, Colombia ATTAC Chile ATTAC Japan Austria Social Forum Bangla Praxis Bangladesh Krishok Federation Cacao Pela Cidadania Mundial, Brasil Campaign Genoa 2001 Caritas Brasileira Caritas Colombia CCIPPP -
